Diagnostic neuromusculoskeletal ultrasound

Ultrasound can be used to examine muscles, tendons, joints and nerves as part of a clinical assessment.

What is it used for?

It can help characterize an abnormality and observe certain structures during movement. The clinical assessment determines whether ultrasound is useful and which areas to examine.

Ultrasound and treatment

When appropriate, ultrasound can also guide an injection. A diagnostic ultrasound does not necessarily lead to an injection.
